Poster Presentation at MenaML Winter School 2026

I’m happy to share that I attended the 2026 Middle East and North Africa Machine Learning (MenaML) Winter School from January 24-29 at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, where I had the opportunity to present my poster on “Transformer-Based Greenhouse Climate Forecasting with Structured Conditioning and Physics-Based Simulation”.

The program was fantastic – an intensive week of lectures, hands-on sessions, and meaningful conversations with researchers from across the world. The poster sparked some great discussions around climate modeling and AI for agriculture.

I especially enjoyed getting to chat with some brilliant people throughout the week:

  • Omar Attia, Senior Research Engineer at Apple
  • Ibrahim Alabdulmohsin, Research Scientist at Google DeepMind
  • Miruna Pislar, Research Engineer at Google DeepMind
  • Andrew El-Kadi, Research Engineer at Google DeepMind

Beyond the speakers, my fellow Turkish friend group made the experience even more memorable. It’s always special to find your people at these events!

Key Takeaways

  • Presented a poster on transformer-based greenhouse climate forecasting
  • Engaged with leading researchers from industry and academia
  • Built lasting connections with peers from the region and beyond

Looking forward to carrying the energy and ideas from KAUST into my ongoing research!
